A little introspection this evening as I sit beneath the fruit trees. So much has transpired since that day we made final decision to improve our health by being more involved with our food production and to aid others to do the same. The call to be more independent was one we joyfully answered! Several nights this week, side dishes have come from produce grown our property. Bread has been made by our hands, covered with jam made from fruits harvested by us, made by us.

It appears that it's going to be a good year for the muscadines!

Radishes are excellent bc they are a no waste food. Last night, we used the leaved to make a pesto in with we tossed potatoes and then roasted them. The remaining leaves were chopped with roots and added to roaming lettuce for a nice side salad. Dinner was simple & delicious!

Sweet Pea carefully ascertained my intentions this morning when I greeted the legumes. She also asked for breakfast, which I quickly prepared for our nursing mama. Our sweet girl has been more protective of this litter, only allowing me access. We are respecting her wishes as best we can.
