We had a great time hanging with the horses! We really fell in love with Icarus. He is such sweet & handsome fella! Would you check out those bangs?!
My favorite side of Hoopty right now is this row full of Marigolds. Flowers just make me smile!
Last year we planted garlic on October 17th & 18th (if my records are correct) and had our first bumper harvest. This time frame seems to work well for our area. Today we begin the process all over again by pulling a part our various varieties, counting them out, & amending soil in our garlic bed. Lots to do! But why did it get so hot suddenly?!
It's a great feeling to learn what your dirt will grow. Ours, absolutely, positively, DEFINITELY can grow Eggplant & peppers!😃😂🤣
Another BHG first - Fish Peppers! So excited to try these out. So pretty. You can barely tell it in the photo but the striping that was there as a green pepper remains but every so slight.
Meal prep has become an integral part of our family dynamic. Having cooked veggies on hand means we are less likely to turn to fast food. This morning between chasing off the neighbor's turkey I was able to harvest about 2lbs of mustard greens. Also on the menu this eggplant parm. Lots of work on the top end of the week makes the week run just a tab bit smoother and means we eat a LOT healthier!
